Spatial Spillover Effects of Economic Growth Based on High-Speed Railways in Northeast China

This paper examines the spatial spillover effects of public transportation infrastructure on regional economy in Northeast China, “rust belt” region China. The dataset consists socioeconomic data from 47 cities area during period year 2005 through 2015. Accessibility is used as an explanatory variable to reflect influence economic development. In order avoid endogenous, queen contiguity matrix define weight matrix. paper, dynamic panel model also explore high-speed railways whole study and attempted confirm differences among Heilongjiang Province, Jilin Liaoning Province. results show that increase cities’ connection terms accessibility, a significant positive effect exists after construction (HSR), indicating extensive benefits HSR construction, despite overall difficulty experienced by this region.
